About James Houk

With four feature films under his belt as a Director of Photography, James Houk has the talent and experience to tackle projects both small and large.  With a kitted Sony PMW-F3 Super35mm Digital Cinema package at his disposal, as well as a one ton grip truck, James can provide one stop shopping for small productions.

James' third feature, An Affirmative Act - a groundbreaking LGBT courtroom drama - was screened at the 2010 Hoboken International Film Festival, and received distribution through Take 2 Releasing.  He served as Gaffer on the faith based feature film Decision, which starred Christian music notable Natalie Grant, and which premiered on the Gospel Music Channel (GMC).

James served as DP on "The Killing Seed", which was an official selection of the 2011 Bronze Lens Film Festival in Atlanta, GA.  Likewise, "Test Subject B," which starred Maggie Elizabeth Jones (Footloose, We Bought a Zoo), was an official selection of the 2012 Irvine International Film Festival.

James Houk also works on music videos - he recently served as DP for Lucas Hoge's Give A Damn video, which premiered on GAC.  On the other end of the musical spectrum James served as DP on Atlanta based Travis Porter's Go Shorty Go video, which has received over 5 million views on Youtube.
